Chilling on the Farm

How many people can say that they've herded cattle, sold honey to local Virginians and thwarted off some fairly aggressive chickens in less than 72 hours? I didn't think so. And so it goes... another weekend of family bonding and just enjoying the simple pleasures of life along with the non-stop action of farm life. Who could ask for more?
I love my family more than words can say and just being in their presence puts a smile on my face. They run & own, Faith Farms, 95 acres teeming with clucking chickens, lazy goats, pigs, and cows that roam across the rolling green pastures. I have to say, I'm constantly impressed with the fact that my mom, dad & sister, Jess, run this place. They're awesome!

Have a GREAT week!

Belmar, Bagels & Bayonne

It was a crazy quick weekend that started in Belmar. I couched surfed with one of my best friend's, Carrie, and her crew in Belmar. The first thing I did was check the surf, which was pretty washed out but it was so nice to just sit and watch. Its been waaaayyyy too long since I've stepped foot into the Atlantic.
Saturday I rolled out of bed and headed to Bayonne to spend time with family. My cousin, Jenna, and I did the whole girl bonding thing. And it was a blast! We got our nails done, walked around Broadway & caught up. In the middle of our ventures we got an AWESOME view of the
Wiener-ville van. What else could you ask for on a Saturday?
It was really amazing catching up with my cousins Varda, Arnie, Jason, Tracy, and reuniting with my Uncle Sonny who just returned from Israel last week. Everyone gave some great insight about Israel & there's even talk of a family quest to Israel next summer. Do I hear couch surfing fest '09?

Two months and counting...

This is the first of what I hope to be many blogging sessions. Monday was the two month pre-departure countdown and to say the least I am stoked at the road ahead. I'll be touring Israel, Jordan & Egypt in a 3.5 week period teeming with felafel, flip flops and the occasional surf session.
